Foundations of evolutionary theory and biology
Evolutionary biology is concerned with the origin of life and represents especially the third and the fourth phase of this development in the center of his considerations. Here especially the formation of simple protozoa plays, the prokaryotes, an important role. In the fifth phase of the origin of life is the development of eukaryotes and multicellular organisms are in focus. This model must be able to explain the origin of life, the steps of inorganic substances to living structures. An important component of evolutionary biology is genetics. Known in genetics is the discoverer of the inheritance rules: Johann Gregor Mendel. He chose as a research project, the pea, because in a short time produces many offspring, and thus quickly can investigate. Over two years he has examined whether the physical characteristics of the descendants still corresponded to those of their parents. Here, the individual characteristics were at the heart of the views. After his studies, the results were analyzed quantitatively and statistically. The success of his experiments came to be known only after his death. He made a decisive part in the theory of evolution and especially in the subregion: the genetics.
